Kia ora and hi there!

I’m an Associate Lecturer in Music Psychology in the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music, University of Melbourne. I’m a behavioural geneticist and also part of the Clinical and Music Neuroscience Lab in the Melbourne School of Psychological Sciences, The University of Melbourne, where I completed my PhD.

My research broadly revolves around the genetics of human musicality - the various behavioural and cognitive traits that influence our capacity to be musical, in all of its forms. There are three main strands to my research:

  1. Genetic and environmental influences on musicality traits (e.g. singing ability)

  2. How to phenotype and measure individual differences in musicality

  3. How people understand their own musicality and abilities (e.g. through self-evaluation)

This page is a work in progress but I hope to add to it soon! I’m still learning how to use Quarto, and I eventually want to make this page nice and pretty.
