Kia ora and hi there!
I’m an Associate Lecturer in Music Psychology in the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music, University of Melbourne. I’m a behavioural geneticist and also part of the Clinical and Music Neuroscience Lab in the Melbourne School of Psychological Sciences, The University of Melbourne, where I completed my PhD.
My research broadly revolves around the genetics of human musicality - the various behavioural and cognitive traits that influence our capacity to be musical, in all of its forms. There are three main strands to my research:
Genetic and environmental influences on musicality traits (e.g. singing ability)
How to phenotype and measure individual differences in musicality
How people understand their own musicality and abilities (e.g. through self-evaluation)
This page is a work in progress but I hope to add to it soon! I’m still learning how to use Quarto, and I eventually want to make this page nice and pretty.
